I've been doing hair for 20 years & I still love it the same way I did on day one.
My name is Kait. I run Black Pin Project out of my home studio in Spruce Grove, and I travel across Edmonton and beyond for the weddings that need me on location.
I'm warm, I'm direct, and I genuinely care — about the hair, about the morning, and about the person sitting in my chair. Coming to me feels less like an appointment and more like showing up at a friend's place. A friend who just happens to know more about product science and finish than anyone you've ever met.

I’ve joined forces with CRU Beauty Loft alongside Emily and Calvin — Edmonton's premier freelance beauty collective for weddings and events. It means your whole bridal beauty team is in good hands, not just your hair.
I'm also spending more and more time teaching — passing on 20 years of technical knowledge to stylists who are ready to go deeper than most education allows. It's the same thing I do in the bridal suite, just in a classroom: pull people in, make them feel at home, and share everything I know.

I'm comfortable everywhere — the Fairmont bridal suite, a backyard getting-ready situation, anywhere in between. I adapt, I figure it out, and I never make anyone feel like their vision is too much or not enough.
